Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP)

ECP, located in Panama City, is the closest full-service commercial airport to the eastern stretch of 30A — think Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seacrest, and Inlet Beach.

Good for: Travelers staying in Inlet Beach, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, or Seacrest. Drive time to 30A: Roughly 20–30 minutes to the eastern communities. Watch for: ECP has fewer daily flights than larger regional hubs, so fares and schedules can be less flexible, especially outside of peak season.

Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS)

VPS sits closer to the western end of 30A and tends to have more flight options and competitive pricing thanks to a mix of major carriers.

Good for: Travelers staying in Miramar Beach, Sandestin, Seascape, Dune Allen, or Santa Rosa Beach. Drive time to 30A: Around 20–40 minutes depending on which community you’re headed to. Watch for: VPS gets busy during peak summer weekends and holiday travel — book ground transportation in advance if you’re arriving on a Saturday in July.

Destin Executive Airport (DTS)

DTS is a general aviation airport, meaning it primarily serves private and charter flights rather than commercial airlines.

Good for: Travelers flying private, chartering a plane, or landing via FBO service (like Sheltair or Southern Sky at KECP). Drive time to 30A: Comparable to VPS, roughly 20–40 minutes to most 30A communities. Watch for: Ground transportation still needs to be arranged separately — there’s no commercial rental counter or shuttle infrastructure the way there is at a larger airport.
